Who we are
This privacy policy explains how FBA Tours & Travel Ltd, trading as Fly Beyond Africa Tours & Travel ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal data when you visit fbatourstravel.com, contact us or travel with us. We are the data controller for this information.
We follow the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya and its regulations. If you have any questions, you can reach us using the details at the end of this page.
The information we collect
We only ask for what we need to plan and run your trip. Depending on how you use our services, this may include:
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number and organisation.
- Trip details: the service you are interested in, travel dates, number of adults and children, routes, budget and your message.
- Booking details: names of everyone travelling, dates of birth, nationality, passport or ID details, and flight information, when a supplier, airline or park authority needs them.
- Special requirements: dietary needs, medical or mobility information, when you choose to share them so we can look after you.
- Payment records: invoices, receipts and payment references. Our website does not ask for or store card numbers.
- Your messages: emails, calls, WhatsApp and chat messages you send us.
- Website information: your device, browser, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools (see Cookies below).
If you give us details about other travellers, please make sure they are happy for you to share them and that they have seen this policy.

Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only when we need to:
- Travel suppliers who provide your services, such as lodges, hotels, airlines, ground operators, guides, and park and conservancy authorities.
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as email, website hosting, IT support, banks and payment providers. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Insurers, if you ask us to arrange insurance or need help with a claim.
- Authorities, such as immigration, tax or law enforcement agencies, when the law requires it.
Sending information outside Kenya
When you travel abroad, or when we use international service providers such as email platforms, your information may be transferred outside Kenya. We only do this when it is needed for your trip or our services, and we take the steps required by the Data Protection Act, 2019 to keep it protected.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to two years, so we can follow up and help you plan, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Booking and financial records: for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting law requires, usually at least five years after the end of the financial year.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
After that, we delete your information or make it anonymous.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is used, as in this policy;
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need, or that was processed unlawfully;
- object to us using your data, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it;
- ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies.
To use any of these rights, email info@fbatourstravel.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply as quickly as we can and within the time the law allows.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) at www.odpc.go.ke.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to make our website work, to remember your choices and to understand how visitors use the site, for example through Google analytics tools. Some features, such as maps, reviews, social media and chat, are provided by other companies that may set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the website may not work as well.
How we protect your information
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as secure connections, restricted access and trusted service providers. No system can be completely secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your information has been put at risk.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. When children travel with us, their details are provided by a parent, guardian or school, and we use them only to arrange and run the trip.
News and offers
We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can simply tell us that you no longer want to hear from us.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
